Delirium Vinyl in downtown Decatur

You can imagine that, as a DJ, I spend a lot of time in record stores, digging through crates of vinyl, looking for that banger for my next gig. I wanted to share some of my favorite spots. Whether you’re a die-hard vinyl collector or just love flipping through crates on a lazy weekend, Atlanta and its surrounding neighborhoods have such a cool record-store scene. Here are my top five spots that are absolutely worth the trip — from cozy gems to decades-old institutions.

1. Ella Guru Record Shop — Decatur, GA

2747 Lavista Rd, Decatur, GA 30033

If I could sum up Ella Guru in one word, it’d be “charming.” This little Decatur shop is the kind of place you stroll into for a quick browse and end up staying for an hour. The vinyl selection is wide, ranging from classic rock and soul to indie and obscure finds, all neatly organized and easy to explore. Jacob and Shannon are super friendly — they’ll happily chat about music or help you track down something specific. For my money, this is the most well-curated shop in town, and I'm always amazed at what they're able to get their hands on. It’s that kind of neighborhood gem that keeps me coming back whenever I’m near the Oak Grove area.

2. Wax 'N' Facts — Little Five Points, Atlanta

432 Moreland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307

Wax ’n’ Facts is classic ATL. It’s been around since the ‘70s and feels like a little time capsule of vinyl culture — stacks upon stacks of records and CDs in pretty much every genre you can imagine. Whether you’re into jazz, hard rock, imported pressings, or used gems, you’ll find something to hunt for. It’s a bit of a treasure hunt vibe, and part of the fun is digging through everything to find that unexpected score.

3. Delirium Vinyl — Decatur, GA

308 W Ponce de Leon Ave Suite D, Decatur, GA 30030

This one’s a newer favorite in my rotation. Delirium Vinyl brings a fresh energy to the Decatur scene with a well-curated, growing selection of records and a vibe that’s both nostalgic and modern. They buy collections and restock frequently, so there’s always something new to flip through. I love that it sits right downtown, so you can make a whole day of brunch, vinyl shopping, and coffee afterward.

4. Records Galore — Clarkston, GA

4148 E Ponce De Leon Ave, Clarkston, GA 30021

Records Galore lives up to its name. This place is a paradise if you’re into vintage finds and crate-digging without pressure. Owner Ken knows his stock and is always ready to point you to something cool — whether that's classic soul, rock ’n’ roll, jazz, or rare 45s. It’s got that old-school, laid-back vibe where you can take your time and really enjoy the hunt.

5. Wuxtry Records — Decatur, GA

2096 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033

A true Atlanta staple! Wuxtry has been around for decades (since the late ’70s in Decatur) and is beloved by locals and vinyl lovers for good reason. You’ll find everything from classic rock and soul to jazz and indie, plus CDs, posters, tees, and music memorabilia. It’s one of those iconic shops that feels like part of the community — and browsing here is the perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon.

Final Thoughts

Atlanta’s record store scene has something for everyone — whether you’re hunting for rare pressings, digging through bargain bins, or just soaking up that analog music vibe. From long-standing favorites like Wax ’n’ Facts and Wuxtry to newer spots like Delirium Vinyl, there’s no shortage of places to explore. So grab a friend, hit the crates, and let the vinyl adventures begin!
